Background

The Internet is undeniably the most important innovation in recent history – it has enabled an open exchange of information and ideas, created a new age in commerce and brought together people across the globe. But the Internet's connective capabilities don't end with people. The next wave of the Internet is already underway, and it is taking devices and putting them on the grid. This ‘Internet of Things’ is taking everyday items and enabling them to communicate with each other, leading to real-time analytics, more efficient operations and predictive capabilities. Of course, we need sensors, communication infrastructure and software solutions to collect, communicate and decipher it all. All told, some experts think IoT will have an annual economic impact of over £4.6 billion by 2025. Here are seven companies that are poised to power this digital revolution.

Under Armour investors beginning to lose faith, analyst says

Under Armour (UA, UAA) revealed a weaker-than-expected full-year forecast for its fiscal 2025. The disappointing guidance is compounded by the apparel brand's restructuring plans under returning CEO Kevin Plank. CFRA Research Analyst Zachary Warring and Tom Nikic, Wedbush Securities SVP and Senior Equity Research Analyst for Apparel and Footwear, sit down with Market Domination to talk the company's operating margins hurdles. "You do not want to be a brand that competes solely on price that... leads to a downward spiral of pricing and that's problematic," Nikic tells Yahoo Finance. "The issue is that I don't think they've done what they need to do from a product development perspective, they don't really have a lot of new and exciting products to drive consumer demand." Record market highs, Cisco earnings: Market Domination Overtime

On today's episode of Market Domination Overtime, Yahoo Finance Hosts Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton reflect on the trading day and break down what to watch on Thursday, May. 16. The S&P 500 (^GSPC) closed above 5,300 for the first time ever following the release of April's Consumer Price Index inflation print. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) and the Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) both also closed higher. Investors are bullish after BMO Capital Markets raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 to 5600, the current highest target on Wall Street. Yahoo Finance Reporter Josh Schafer joins Market Domination Overtime to analyze whether the market can continue its momentum. CEO of Brazil-based Nubank (NU) David Vélez joins the show to break down the company's earnings which topped the Street's expectations. Nu Holdings is looking to expand its business beyond Brazil, seeing Mexico as a "phenomenal opportunity" due to its large market size. Cisco (CSCO) posted its third quarter earnings after the market close. The company reported adjusted earnings of $0.88 per share, which beat the estimated $0.82, and revenue of $12.70 billion, which was slightly better than estimates. The tech giant also raised its full-year guidance. Morningstar Equity Analyst William Kerwin says the demand slumps for Cisco up until now were a symptom of the "COVID hangover," and it may take another quarter for demand to stabilize fully. Finally, Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton break down what to watch on Thursday, from new housing data to Walmart (WMT) earnings to remarks from Federal Reserve officials.
